Join the Patterns by Patsy Pattern Testing Team

Help shape my next crochet amigurumi animal pattern, one peaceful section at a time. Pattern testing includes working through one section of the pattern at a time and sharing feedback to ensure every crocheter enjoys a calm experience from start to finish.

What Is Pattern Testing?

Pattern testing is a way for crocheters to help designers refine new patterns before they’re released to the public. Testers work through a pattern to confirm that instructions are clear, stitch counts add up, and the overall experience feels smooth and enjoyable.

When you join the Patterns by Patsy testing team, you’ll help me:

Ensure each testing pattern flows in a calm, step-by-step rhythm through my Peaceful Progressions System.

Catch small details that might affect how smoothly a pattern works up.

Shape final designs that are gift-ready, joyful, and stress-free to complete.

How Pattern Testing Works

This process is designed to be peaceful and organized, not rushed. You’ll receive the pattern in Peaceful Progressions sections rather than all at once. Each step is structured to keep testing enjoyable and easy to follow.

Start Your First Section

You’ll receive the first part of the pattern, estimated to take about an hour to complete, and begin crocheting at your own pace.

Share Feedback & Photo

After finishing, complete a survey to share your experience, mention what worked, what didn’t, and email a photo.

Unlock the Next Section

Once feedback is submitted, you’ll receive the next section to continue your testing pattern experience.

Warp Up & Review

After finishing, you’ll complete one last form to confirm everything felt clear.

What’s In It For You As A Pattern Tester?

Before the pattern is published, you’ll receive the final version for FREE (via a coupon on my website) as a thank you for your time and feedback.

What Makes Testing with Patterns by Patsy Different

Testing with me is designed around your real life, calm, flexible, and supportive. I know there’s more to life than crochet deadlines, so I provide a reasonable amount of time to test each section. The goal is to enjoy the process, not rush through it. Every testing pattern reflects the same design principles as my published ones:

Yarn Only Designs:

You only need yarn and fiberfill, no safety eyes or extra parts to source, position, or worry about.

Video Tutorials:

Where needed, I include video guidance to help you make the right stitches at the right time.

Peaceful Progressions:

You’ll test in clearly defined sections, each designed to take about an hour, with visible progress, description of what you’ll crochet, and a list of what you’ll need.

What I Look for in Testers

I welcome testers of all experience levels! What matters most is reliability, good communication, and a willingness to help refine each pattern through thoughtful feedback.

Communication & Support

Most communication happens through email, but if you ever need clarification, I’m happy to connect by Zoom or Google Meet to discuss questions in real time.

Feedback Expectations

I value testers who can share specific, constructive feedback, what worked well, what felt confusing, and even suggestions that could make things clearer for others.

Sharing & Confidentiality

You’re welcome (and encouraged!) to share your finished project on social media as long as you credit Patterns by Patsy as the designer, but you cannot share the pattern or any of it’s contents.
